Single Shift OT Allocation

Select the Tables | Template OT Allocation | Single Shift main menu option.

The system will display the standard table maintenance screen.

The Single Shift Allocation Table maintenance screen allows you to Add new entries, Update existing entries, and Delete entries.

The Single Shift Allocation Table (like most of the OT Allocation tables) can be confusing, but these tables are probably the most critical tables for proper operation of the Overtime Tracking system.  When you charge overtime the actual charged hours are retrieved by the system from these tables and each table plays a part in correctly "calculating" the charged hours for the number of overtime hours being offered.

Using the first row of the table in the screen print above, this table would be used for overtime assignments when you're entering an overtime charge in one of an employee's 6th day shifts (i.e. first scheduled day off for this employee).  Using this example, you would be offering an 8.00 hour overtime assignment to this employee and, in this case, whether that employee accepted or refused the overtime offered, he or she would be charged 12.00 hours based on that overtime offering.  Of all the OT Allocation tables, the Single Shift table is not only the most used table, but is also the "least" confusing to understand.

The fields that MUST be populated in this table are as follows:

IMPORTANT:  Most of the common charges that you will encounter while entering overtime assignments have already been populated in each of the Overtime Allocation Tables for you.  If you attempt to enter an overtime offering that the system does not find in these tables, the system will attempt to automatically ADD a table entry, based on assumptions which may or may not generate the appropriate charged hours, which you can then manually override before adding the entry for the affected employee or employees.
